Employee Wellness Program
An Instructor Led Workshop
Workshop Highlights
Instructor Led transformational group experience for 100+ staff members of highly regarded local hospital department to support team cohesion and transition plan for organizational change management. Incorporated anonymous feedback to create a safe environment for employees to express fears and hopes about change. Initiative resulted in increased employee morale regarding change.
AUDIENCE: Department Employees
RESPONSIBILITIES: Subject Matter Expert, Workshop Development and Facilitation, and Commissioned Art Piece
The Problem
In an effort to support employees through several major departmental transitions including a move to a new location as well as changes in leadership, I was asked to develop an interactive workshop to honor the worries and concerns of each member of staff.
The Solution
Using creative expression, I created a workshop where each employee could anonymously share both fears and hopes as it related to the upcoming changes. Using the metaphor of the butterfly, each employee design and decorated their own butterfly listing on one wing a fear and on the other a hope for their department.
The Results
This facilitated workshop allowed each staff member to feel seen, heard, and valued during this time of great change. The project was designed so that creative and non-creatives alike could feel successful, bolstering participation. The anonymous feedback served to provide insight to management to better support the team in the coming months. I designed the final art piece to honor their “migration” to the new space. The piece remains in the space and serves as a backdrop in several videos to this day.
